How to get NekoLauncher/Mednafen to work?

I just tried NekoLauncher Mednafen, from here: http://forum.fobby.net/index.php?t=msg&th=777&start=0& (first attachmend)
but when I start it I get an error saying:
"Launcher has encountered a problem
Failed to initialize the configString"

Any ideas what this could be?

just to let you know that at least somebody is listening out there and if its any consolation, ive had trouble getting that to work as well. im no amateur when it comes to emulation, i just wasnt convinced that mednafen was worth the trouble to brainstorm to try to get it to work. ive also had trouble with the compiled fce ultra for mac os at speedofmac.com, which i really do want to get to work. turns out its not even mac native and needs to run through x11 or xquartz. ive used emulators like turboengine and pcsx-r on wine and x11 with no problem but fceu just wont work, even if i try to upgrade the x11/quartz.
