There is this line going down the right side of the screen, not dust or liquid...i'm guessing the screen is burning....do screens create burn marks if iMac gets used a lot & gets very warm?

It shouldn't. Could you maybe snap a picture of the screen so that we could see just what it looks like? With a visual aid, the cause might be able to be diagnosed.
