This wonderful look into the creation of some of the Mac's early icons is doing the rounds right now. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet.

They've got pictures of the initial hand drawn versions of the icons, along with a narrative on how they came to be and what Susan Kare did for graphic design on computers. It's a fascinating glimpse at an important aspect of early Mac history.

Cool, saw it doing the rounds on Twitter recently. Looks like there is a book featuring her work/process etc from the time... might be a nice one to purchase.
